UPDATE FROM THE US FOREST SERVICE: Small Wildfire in Mono City area
Fire Crews Respond to Lundy Fire
Inyo National Forest, Bureau of Land Management, Cal Fire, county and local crews responded to the Lundy Fire near Lee Vining this morning.
Initial reports showed the fire to be one acre and growing with structures threatened. Multiple crews, dozers, and air resources responded. Currently the fire is three acres and is contained.
Red Flag warnings are in the forecast for low relative humidity and high winds, so crews are actively working to contain and control the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, although nearby power lines may have started the fire.
“This has been a great interagency response today,” said Tim Dunfee, Acting Fire Chief for the Inyo National Forest. “Everyone is doing their part to contain this fire.”
