Thank You Dispatchers!
The Mono County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating our dispatchers in recognition of National Telecommunications Week. In 1991, Congress formally proclaimed the second week in April “National Telecommunications Week” to recognize the women and men who put countless hours behind the radio, phone and computer to ensure the highest level of public safety.
Our dispatchers are not only here to serve the communication needs of the Mono County Sheriff’s Office, but also to provide service for the Mammoth Lakes Police Department , Mono County Paramedics, and all the fire protection districts throughout Mono County (including Antelope Valley, Bridgeport, Lee Vining, June Lake, Mammoth Lakes, Long Valley, Wheeler Crest/Paradise, Chalfant/White Mountain/Benton). Our dispatchers are not only there to answer the call and get proper resources to any situation, they are also our jailers. They are there to ensure the jail operates properly including the safety of all inmates. “Our dispatching staff are an integral part of the safety of Mono County, both for the citizens and the first responders. They are the unseen heroes who can help save a life via a phone call,” said Sheriff Ralph Obenberger.
The dispatchers are the first ones to receive the call for all emergency and non-emergency situations. They are truly the first people to respond to a citizen’s call for help. They are that calm, reassuring voice that help is on the way.
Where our dispatchers are recognized daily for their dedication, please join the Mono County Sheriff’s Office in recognizing and truly thanking our dispatching staff! Here’s to you!
