RE: MONET narcotics search warrant leads to arrest of a Mammoth Lakes resident
The Mono County Narcotics Enforcement Team (MONET), along with the assistance of the Mono County Sheriff’s Office, concluded a narcotics warrant investigation in the Town of Mammoth Lakes.
On the morning of Saturday, February 22, 2014, MONET agents, and Mono County Sheriff’s deputies, conducted two simultaneous search warrants at two residences’ within the Town of Mammoth Lakes. Contact was made with one of the residents, Daniel Milev, age 38, of Mammoth Lakes, who stated he was hallucinating someone breaking into his home and was glad law enforcement was there to help him. He also stated he had consumed an undisclosed amount of narcotics that he had purchased in Southern California and brought to Mammoth.
With several alerts inside the residence by narcotic detection K-9, Tara, a physical search of Mr. Milev’s residence was conducted and approximately a quarter ounce of methamphetamine, a digital scale, numerous piece of aluminum foil containing burnt residue consistent with narcotics residue, and approximately five and a half (5.5) grams of psilocybin mushrooms were discovered and recovered. Mr. Milev was arrested and transported to the Mono County Jail in Bridgeport without incident.
Daniel Milev, age 38, of Mammoth Lakes, was arrested for transportation of a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance for sale; maintaining a residence with the intent to house and sell narcotics; possession of narcotics paraphernalia; and being under the influence of a controlled substance. Mr. Milev is currently in custody in the Mono County Jail.
All charges are pending with the Mono County District Attorney’s Office.
