Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)

On September 5, 2017, President Trump directed the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to phase out and eventually end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) over two and half years.  Currently, nothing has changed about DACA participant eligibility for Medi-Cal. All DACA participants continue to be eligible for full-scope Medi-Cal until further notice.

The Immigrant Legal Resource Center has produced a toolkit entitled, “What Do I Need to Know if the DACA Program Ends?” This community advisory in English and Spanish lays out what this means for DACA recipients, those with pending applications, those who need to renew their DACA, and more, can be found at this site:  https://www.ilrc.org/advisory-daca
