Big Rig Collision south of Bridgeport (expect travel delays this morning around accident site)

The California Highway Patrol, out of the Bridgeport area, asked that we share some information with you regarding a big rig crash that happened around 3:45 am this morning. It was a non-injury collision involving a big rig towing two trailers that crashed into a ditch on Hwy 395, north of SR 270 (Bodie Road near the Virginia Settlement).

As of this morning, around 7:15 am, the big rig has yet to be removed from the ditch. CHP, Bridgeport Fire and a tow company are working on safely removing the rig from the ditch.

Removing this rig could result in intermittent roadway closures lasting up to 30 minutes, both north and south of the accident site. All travelers are advised to use caution around the accident site and to expect some delays while crews work to remove the rig. We appreciate everyone's patience this morning. CHP will issue a formal press release this afternoon with more specific details on this non-injury collision.

Thank you!
