The Main Street Revitalization Design Fair at the end of August was very successful with tremendous community participation - a total of 78 folks attended the closing workshop alone! Dan Burden, the Design Team facilitator, has conducted these workshops in over 2,500 communities and he noted it was the highest participation rate (by percentage of population) that he has ever seen, and the best turnout of Main Street business owners.
The implementation of Design Fair ideas is an exciting opportunity to enhance Bridgeport, and the Mono County Community Development Department will be relying on the Regional Planning Advisory Committee (RPAC) for community input, discussion and guidance. The RPAC currently has six members, and is looking to expand. If you would like to be part of these upcoming discussions to define the future of Bridgeport, please submit an application! Diverse opinions and viewpoints are welcome, and generally lead to stronger consensus and better decisions.
The application is available below, and is available at the Community Development counter of the Bridgeport County office.
Please submit RPAC applications directly to Supervisor Tim Hansen at PO Box 287, Lee Vining, CA 93541, or to Wendy Sugimura at PO Box 347, Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546. The application deadline is Friday, September 28, 2012.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Wendy at 760.924.1814. Also, feel free to pass this notification on to anyone you think may be interested.
